Our Wrestling Mat Light
Our light comes with a 500 watt LED that produces about 50,000 lumens of light. Our cone has a triple lock system for safety, the two side clips insure that when installed correctly this light will not fall, the center clip is used for raising and lowering. The two side clips can also be used to set the height over the mat. Our light has a metal grate on the bottom to protect the LED when It’s hanging in the gym.
If you choose to permanently mount the light, our unique Patent Pending design allows the light to be mounted at a height of 25 to 28 feet above the mat without the need of a hoist, and gives you all the light that you need without any shadows at the outer edges of the circle. He doesn’t remember where he read of the idea, but in the late 70’s he started holding home matches with the gym lights off, except for a single light focused on the mat that was a highlight for a lot of kids, they wanted to wrestle under the light, and they knew they had to earn it by making the varsity lineups.
It’s a big deal. We didn’t want it to be just a contest. We wanted to create fan fare, some people accused us of trying to intimidate the visiting team. But we weren’t trying to intimidate anyone. What we were telling them was, this is what you should be doing, giving your kids something like this.
